Peter Bryan Schrier, M.D., CNSC
Dr. Schrier grew up on Long Island and graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine in 2007. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NSUH-LIJMC) in 2010 and subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in 2012. During his last year of fellowship, he was selected to serve as Chief Fellow. Dr. Schrier is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He has an additional board certification in Nutritional Support as well. Dr. Schrier relaunched Park Avenue Nephrology in 2012 and now serves as its Medical Director. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and long walks through the City.

Nirav Mehta, D.O.
Dr. Mehta grew up in Queens, N.Y. and graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine in 2013 and Fellowship training in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in 2015 at North Shore University Hospital/ Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NSUH-LIJMC). During his last year of fellowship, he was selected to serve as Chief Fellow. Dr. Mehta is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Mehta joined Park Avenue Nephrology in 2015. He enjoys traveling and has a strong passion for watching professional sports, most notably basketball and tennis. He enjoys playing both sports in in spare time as well.

Jeny Varghese, M.D.
A Queens native, Dr. Varghese graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2011. During medical school, she participated in the Salybia Mission Project where she helped provide health care services and supplies to the indigenous community of Dominica. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital/ Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NSUH-LIJMC) in 2014 and subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in 2016. During her last year of fellowship, she was selected to serve as Chief Fellow. Dr. Varghese is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She joined Park Avenue Nephrology in 2017 and is the newest addition to the practice. Dr. Varghese is family-oriented. She loves long walks and trying exotic foods. She enjoys watching the food network.

Marice Schwartz, MSN, ANP-C
Marice Schwartz is a nationally certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has been involved in the care of patients with kidney diseases since 1987. She has worked as a dialysis nurse, a clinical manager, a nurse educator, a quality improvement nurse, and a nurse practitioner. Marice has been with Park Avenue Nephrology since its relaunch in 2012. She provides specialized care and education for patients with late stage kidney disease and for those on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Marice is an avid tennis player and is passionate about Rottweilers.

Lisa Lewis, MSN, ANP-C
Lisa Lewis is a nationally certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She has over 15 years of healthcare experience ranging from Critical Care Nursing to NP in Adult Health. Lisa joined Park Avenue Nephrology in 2014, where she provides Nephrology-focused care to hospitalized patients, outpatient care in the office setting, and specialized care for patients on hemodialysis. Lisa’s goal is to educate in a straightforward and approachable manner, so patients have the knowledge base needed to be proactive and make informed decisions to optimized their health. In her free time, Lisa enjoys physical fitness training.
